RULES & NOTES. Please refer to the RFA website for details of their waters
The Dorset Arms Angling Club is a member of the Rother Fisheries Association. This provides our members with extra waters to fish that are included in their membership fee. Please familiarise yourself with the RFA’s Rules, General Notes and maps as detailed on the RFA website (link below). Guest tickets are available from the Membership Secretary should you wish to take a guest with you but these must be returned after your fishing trip. There is no charge for a guest ticket on RFA waters.

14/04/2021 Parking update from the RFA’s Steve Crowley.
“I’ve been in discussion with the Parish Council at Newenden and the pleasing result in essence is as follows, information to pass on to your members.
1) Please avoid parking in Lossenham Lane unless absolutely necessary especially towards late summer when farm machinery finds passage difficult.
2) Parking at weekends and bank holidays through the summer will be available on the Selmes Trust field (next to the cricket pitch, RFA Members need to be away before 8pm in the summer as that is when the gate is locked.
3) The particularly good news is that they have agreed without charge to allow RFA Members to park in the new village hall car park throughout the year. It’s not ready yet but it will be soon, when the new build is complete. I had a look at it today and it is not far off finishing now.
Thinking about it, I can foresee potential problems with the village’s river warden (Alan) not knowing if a car parked there is an RFA member, as the privilege is not open to anyone else except RFA members and those who reside in the village. Alan needs to be able to see when he walks past that the parked car is authorised, and I would prefer to stop problems before they occur.
I think an easy answer is for you all to tell your members to simply leave a small card or note or whatever on show on the dashboard stating ‘RFA Member.’ When it comes to checking the validity of the fishing permit, Alan might do so, but the new Newenden bailiff George will of course also do so, as will Tim (RFA bailiff) if he’s passing. It’s probably worth them doing the same at Park Farm if they fish Udiam, and maybe Bodiam Castle (though simply producing their RFA sticker on their card for the parking attendant should be OK as they have agreed (as I mentioned a while ago) to allow two RFA cars free parking at any time.”
